Ronnie Robinson, P.E., is from St. Amant and currently resides in Gonzales. He graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1982. He began working for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) in 1983 as a survey party chief for the construction of I-49 south of Shreveport. Transferring back to south Louisiana in 1984, he continued his work as a project engineer, and received his Louisiana Professional Engineering license in 1988. After 16 years in construction; 9 years in design, water resources and development; and 8 years as Assistant District Administrator of the Baton Rouge area, he retired in 2016 from DOTD with 33 years of public service. Currently he is employed by Gresham Smith on a part time basis, to provide direction for planning, design, construction, and management of transportation projects.
