The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority – West (SLFPA-W) welcomed its newest commissioner, Ronnie Robinson, P.E. of Gonzales to his first meeting on July 28. Robinson was appointed to the board by Governor John Bel Edwards. He represents the board in one of the positions reserved for professionals who reside outside the district.

Robinson is a professional engineer who is employed by Gresham Smith where he provides direction for planning, design, construction and management of transportation projects. He retired in 2016 from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development after 33 years of service, including eight years as Assistant District Administrator of the Baton Rouge area. He graduated from LSU in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
