If you want to check out the largest pump station in the world, here’s your chance. The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West is hosting another tour Saturday (Oct. 31) starting at 9 a.m. of the West Closure Complex at at 500 E. Bayou Road in Belle Chasse.

The authority is showing off the $1.1 billion complex as it tries to build support for two flood protection tax proposals that will be on West Bank ballots on Nov. 21. One measure asks West Jefferson voters to support a $5.5 million increase in property taxes, and the other asks Algiers voters to renew their $1.2 million in property tax for flood protection.
