Tropical Storm Harvey has moved north of the Greater New Orleans area and there are no additional impacts expected; however, Bayou Segnette Sector Gate remains closed. The water levels are falling slowly and the Southeast Flood Protection Authority-West (SLFPA-W) will likely open the gate by tomorrow. The Harvey Sector Gate at Lapalco also remains closed, and will be reopened by the United States Army Corps of Engineers when the water levels fall below 2.5′.

To note, there is an area of tropical disturbance off the coast of Tampico, Mexico, that may affect Louisiana as early as next Tuesday, September 5. SLFPA-W is monitoring and will send updates as necessary.
