Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority – West (SLFPA-W) has closed 46 out of 68 floodgates and the remaining three gates will be closed by noon today. 20 gates on the Mississippi River will remain open. Boomtown closed at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24. The gates at the 404c floodwall and Old Estelle Outfall Canal remain closed, as well as the floodgates at the Bayou Segnette State Park boat launch. The LA-45 gate remains open and will be re-evaluated on Tuesday, August 25.
