SLFPA-W President, Scott Burke and Regional Director, John Monzon joined Governor John Bel Edwards at a press conference Thursday, June 13th to kick off hurricane season. The West Authority along with the Corps of Engineers, State and Local officials, had an opportunity to inform the public on the readiness of the hurricane protection system. This year, West Jefferson and Algiers will enjoy the best hurricane protection system due to the recently raised and armored levees.
